My wife and I were visiting from out of town and we're recommended to come here. Everything was amazing. From the service, to the speed at which the food was brought to the table, to the food itself. We could not have had a better dinner. We'll definitely be coming back when we're in Philly again!
Spending some time in Philly and started our first night off at Zagafen. As someone who grew up eating at non-kosher restaurants, I can truly say I was extremely impressed with Zagafen and it was one of the best restaurant experiences I've had. The ambiance is a great mix of upscale yet homey (we had our 8-month old with us and we felt totally comfortable). The soft jazz with the chic decor was an awesome touch. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, without being too intrusive, even though ordering was via the phone app. The food was simply amazing: great price, quantity, AND quality! Started off with mozzarella sticks which were breaded to perfection; they were crunchy, light, and cheesy. The Margherita pizza and Papparadelle pasta were delicious. I was even impressed by the bathrooms!! Would highly recommend to anyone in town, kosher or not.
Excellent service and delicious, quality food. Nice place to dine in. Highly recommend the Salmon Burger & Black and White Dessert (crepe with banana)
This place is quickly becoming a Bala Cynwyd favorite destination of mine. This review, at this time, is specific to their pizza offerings. (Two pictures and milkshake included.) The food quality is excellent and the prices, for kosher pizza, are fair. This location strikes a nice balance between being appropriate for dates as well as being kid friendly. I look forward to exploring the rest of the menu as the opportunity presents itself.
GREAT food for sure. Everything that we order was great - but took over an hour to get - all came at a different time - i would think that soup would be one of the first - not the last to come out. I would really suggest that they get more waiters - the guy serving us was running around like crazy!!!! Please as well - get someone to clean and take out the trash mid day. The trash cans were FILLED - floor sticky - bathroom not clean. I would love to go back for food but we did not like the fact that we had to wait over an hour to get it.
We were greeted warmly and instructed how to order the food shortly after stepping in. We ordered a pie, beet salad, fries (not pictured), and fries topped with cheese and pizza sauce. The first three dishes listed were thoroughly enjoyed! The “loaded” fries were good as well, but I prefer the standard ones. (The pizza sauce made the fries a bit soggy.) The food was served quite fast and our needs were well attended to. If you’re looking for kosher food in the area, go ahead and visit Zagafen. :) In addition to the tasty food, they offer a lovely space.
